blue train

was planning on a billie holiday painting next, but have been listening to a lot of saint john coltrane, so have decided to capitalize on that.
I hope Billie doesn't feel mistreated, I guess men were always treating her shabbily.

  1. For the record, the shading on the face is incredible. The way you have the light source as if it is a spotlight so the lower part of his face and chin/neck are shaded is amazing. Thanks for sharing. My favorite painting of the series to date.

  5. love your work. got interested because of your work for the adds for c last summer.
    since i have studied painting at the academy of fine arts in karlsruhe and was doing paper cuts inspired by swoon since i graduated from there, i now got inspired by your work and will go back to watercolors and will try it with fotografs of people.
